Seeking Our Opportunity Now

S.O.O.N (Seeking Our Opportunity Now) is a youth program that serves kids, ages 11-14, in Baltimore city. This is a pivotal time for our children and we believe that our program can help steer their minds in a hopeful direction.

Positive self talk is the foundation of our Motivational Self-Empowerment exercises.

Through our exercises, students will be able to harness that same power for academic achievement.

Academic Achievement: Getting students to believe that they are "A Success Story in the Development" will be reflected in test scores. It will also be reflected in school pride.
Attitude: Positive thoughts will lead to positive thinking; positive thinking will influence positive habits; and positive habits will produce positive choices.
Role Models: An optimistic change in attitude can be a model for the younger students to follow.
Heathier Self-Esteem: A healthier self-appraisal of oneself will better equip students with bullying; that it is okay to say no; and, that they are no mistake, they are a miracle.
